CDI seeks a full-time Communications Manager to conduct CDI’s communications & digital projects. The Communications Manager will develop strategies and build campaigns for CDI’s communications channels to expand our audience, attract new funders, and build new strategic partnerships. This position involves in-person travel to meet and document our clients and their work and to tell their stories. The work entails growing the CDI brand, identifying CDI as a recognized leader in the cooperative field, and effectively communicating CDI’s role as a key community engagement partner helping communities find solutions through cooperative development.
We are looking for an experienced, creative thinker to develop and implement a communications strategy and plan that reflects a diversity of audience and stakeholders, and centers racial and economic justice.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong knowledge of, and experience in, media relations and digital media strategies. They will be detail oriented with strong organizational and task management skills, tech savvy and proficient with multiple digital media and graphic design platforms. The candidate sought will have proven experience as a Communications Specialist or similar role with solid writing, editorial and research skills. They will be skilled in adapting messaging for targeted audiences and communities with cultural competence. Experience with BIPOC community-driven messaging and implementation of language justice policies strongly preferred.
